Albaston Fete 2011
This years beneficiaries are:
Hospital Radio Plymouth received £500, Gunnislake Christmas Lights Appeal received £500, Harrowbarrow and Metherell Playgroup received £350, Gunnislake Cricket Club received £350 Callington Community Gospel Choir received £200 and Albaston Knit and Natter Group received £100.

Monday - 13th June - Quizz - Queens Head Albaston - Starts 8.00pm - 4 in each team - £1.50 per person.
Tuesday - 14th June - Treasure Hunt - Cars leave Queens Head between 6.00pm and 6.15pm - £1.50 per person(poster)
Wednesday 15th June - Darts Knockout Tournament - 8.00pm - Queens Head - £2.00 per person.
Friday 17th June - Albaston Relay

1st Place in a time of 59mins 80 secs Tavistock under 18`s
2nd Place in a time of 1hour 6mins 8 secs Tavistock Athletics Club
3rd Place in a time of 1 hour 9 mins 3 secs Over Active Under Achievers

Fete Day
This year it will be a real community event. The local Primary School, Delaware CP School, is holding a basket ball tournament in the school begining at 10.30am. This is in connection with a whole years project with the Plymouth Raiders Basket Ball Team. The pupils will also have stalls selling merchandise they have produced or purchased in connection with this project. They are opening their Community Learning Centre on the same day at 1.00pm. After this has been completed the children together with the Rubber Band (a local folk band) will process from the school to the Fete Field where the Fete will start.
Grand Opening 2.00pm. - By Mrs Beryl Ellis and Foxy from the Plymouth Raiders.
2.10pm May Pole Dancing and Country Dancing with the Pupils from the School.
2.20pm Cheer Leaders and The Delaware Serpent Dance
2.30pm Taiko Drummers from Callington Community College
3.00pm The Harrow Barrows Display team
3.30pm Carys Goodright (Singer and Last Year's A Factor Winner)
3.45pm Gun Run
We have lots of stalls this year, Coconut Shy. Smashing Plate Stall, Ball in the Bucket Stall, Stocks, Splat the Rat, Tombola, Keepy Uppy Competition, Bouncy Castle + many of the usual Fete Activities. The Pupils from the school will bring their stalls down and the Lady Margaret Fairground Organ will entertain us throughout the afternoon. One of our beneficiaries Plymouth Hospital Radio is loaning us their show stage for the day so there will be frequent announcements to keep everyone informed as to what is about to happen.
After the Fete
Saturday - evening - 18th June - Queens Head Albaston - Music from the James Brothers - Duo playing music for all tastes from present day back to the good old 60s. begins 9.00pm
Sunday - 19th June - Queens Head - 7.00pm - Grand Raffle. Top prize £250 plus other cash prizes and many other prizes. Tickets available from Fete Committee on Fete Day or phone 01822 832225
