
X Factor type talent competition, The A Factor!, on fete day with a £50 cash prize for the winner. Entrants must fill out an application form (Click Here) which must be received by committee by 29th May.
There will also be Belly Dancers, Drummers and if the weather is favourable The Fairway hot air balloon will be in attendance. The Fairground organ is booked and this will be on the Methodist Chapel car park, with a few chairs around so people can have a cream tea and enjoy this spectacle. Also a bouncy castle and lots of other things!
The week leading upto the fete is also organised:
Monday Quiz (8.00pm Queens Head)
Tuesday Treasurer Hunt - starting from Queens Head. time tba. but usually around 7.00pm.
Wednesday Darts comp. time tba.
Nothing Thursday as we set up the field etc. and
Friday will be the Albaston Fete Run.
Saturday the Fete and Sunday the Raffle which takes place in Queens Head at approx 7.00pm.
Raffle tickets are now on sale £1 per book, Lots of prizes, main prize £200.
ALBASTON RELAY RACE
FRIDAY 18TH JUNE 2010
The race around the village consists of a team of 5 runners who carry a baton around the course. The race starts and finishes near The Queens Head Public House opposite the famous “Welcome Tree”. Each runner covers a lap of around two miles and the more senior runners tackle the formidable Cemetry Hill before they sprint back for the baton change over.
There are 11 categories from under 12`s to Fancy Dress, you can download the race entry form: one for UNDER 12s and one for ADULTS / UNDER 18s or at the Tamar Trotters website. There will be a fantastic BBQ with quality hotdogs and burgers from the Tamar Valley butcher in Gunnislake. Also the Queens Head will offer refreshments.
Please come and take part in this race which raises money for very worthwhile local charities and organisations. All medals presented will be designed and made in Albaston by Rosie Fierek of the Albaston Pottery.
The Fete Beneficiaries for 2010 are: The Albaston Millennium Green, Calstock Cricket Club and Talking Books for the Blind (South West) so lets raise lots of money to help them!
